Pet Loss Companion Certification Program
Faithful Hearts: Pet Loss Companion Certification
At Emberline, we believe that the profound bond we share with our animal companions deserves to be met with patience, honesty, and an unhurried kind of care. Our Faithful Hearts program is a sacred path for those called to be a steady light in a pet owner's grief. This training provides the heart-centered expertise needed to walk softly beside a grieving family, ensuring their sorrow is met with presence, comfort, and a gentle, supportive companion.
Choosing Your Path to Certification
I will be right there with you to offer guidance throughout your entire journey—from your first lesson through to the completion of your field work. We offer two ways to begin:
A Standalone Certification: A self-paced online journey through the material at your own speed, complete on its own, followed by your field work—no prior training required.
A Companion to Your Doula Training: Already walking the path with Silent Cradle or Quiet Crossings? Expand your care into the world of pet loss, supporting the deepening bond families share with their animal companions.
Inside the Modules: Learning to Companion the Grieving Heart
Our modules are designed to help you bridge the gap between practical care and human connection, focusing on the essential presence required in each act of Faithful Hearts:
Honoring the Human-Animal Bond: Gaining a clear, current understanding of the unique psychological and emotional significance of animal companionship, and recognizing disenfranchised grief.
The Language of Presence: Learning how to sit with someone's pain using words, and silences, that offer support without offering advice.
The Gift of Stillness: Discovering how to provide a calm, non-judgmental presence, "holding space" for the many complex emotions that pet loss can bring.
Honoring the Loss: Supporting families through the tender days that follow a death, focusing on comfort, patience, and the space to grieve in their own way.
Becoming a Certified Companion
Once you have completed your modules and shared your field work with me for evaluation, you will be a Certified Pet Loss Companion. You will walk away with the certifiable skills and the recognized heart to serve your community, knowing you have the foundation to ensure that in every moment of grief, no one has to walk the path alone.
